【 摘 要 】

Introduction::DespitethesamecomplicationsforLDandtriphasicpills,itseemsasifthecontinuationtimesforthetwobirthcontrolmethodsaredifferent.Aims::TocomparethecontinuationtimesandsideeffectsoftriphasicandmonophasicLDuse,andidentifyfactorsrelatedtocontinuationanddiscontinuation.MethodsandMaterials::AhistoricalcohortstudywasconductedinIsfahan,Irantodeter-mineandcomparetheprobabilityof5yearscontinuationoflowdosemonophasic(223)andtriphasic(163)useamong386reproductivemarriedwomen.Statisticalanalysisused:ThecontinuationtimeoftriphasicpillandLDpillswerecomparedwithKaplanMeierbySPSS11.5software.Results::ThecumulativeproportionofcontinuationwassignificantlydifferentbetweentriphasicandLDgroupsinthefirstyearofuse[0.98(LD)VS0.84(triphsic)].Itwasfoundthatage,numberoflivingchildren,educationlevelandemploymentstatusdidn’thaveanyroleinchoosingcontraceptivemethod(p#62;0.05).Ineachgrouptherewasasignificantrela-tionshipbetweenthesevariablesandmediandurationofOCPuse.Despitesimilarcomplica-tionsandtotaldiscontinuation,5yearcontinuationtimeoftriphasicwaslowerthanthatobservedforLD.Conclusions::ItseemsasthoughconsumptionoftriphasicOCPrequiresmoreattention,asitshouldbetakenonaregularschedule,andmissingadoseformorethantwohoursreducesitsefficacy.Therefore,healthcareprofessionsshouldconsidermorefactorsbeforeofferingclientstriphasicpillsinordertoreducediscontinuationtime.
