ChildrenintheU.S.sufferfromhighratesofcavities,dentalcaries,andotherchildhoodoraldiseases.PediatricoralhealthcareintheUnitedStatesisaveryimportantissue;however,despitefundingforpediatricoralhealthcarefromfederal,state,andprivateorganizationsitremainsanoftenneglectedissue.Expandedpreventivecareservices,strengthenedrelationshipsbetweenpolicymakers,dentalcareprovidersandpublichealthprofessionalsareneededtoimprovetheoralhealthcaredeliveryforchildren.
