【 摘 要 】
Atotalof45bacterialisolateswereobtainedfromrhizospheresoilofriceandtomatoinPeninsularMalaysia,ofwhich6havetheabilitytodegradequorumsensingsignalmolecules,N-acyl-homoserinelactones(AHLs),invitro.ThesixisolatesdesignatedasSP17,SPB2,SPB9,CHB4,CHB18andCHB19wereidentifiedasBacillusthuringiensis,Bacillussp.,Bacillusamyloliquefaciens,Bacilluscereus,BacillusmegateriumandBacilluspumilus,respectively,using16SribosomalRNAsequence-basedidentification.PCRamplificationofAHLlactonasegenes(aiiA)usingaiiAprimersrevealedthepresenceofaiiAgenehomologuesinalloftheisolateswhichmaycontributetoitsAHLdegradationability.TheseAHLdegradingbacteriahavethepotentialforuseasbiologicalcontrolagentsagainstthepapayadiebackdiseasepathogen,Erwiniamallotivora,inMalaysia,wheretheirvirulenceandpathogenicityareregulatedbyAHL-mediatedquorumsensing.
