【 摘 要 】

Thepresentstudywasconductedtoinvestigatetheanti-stresseffectsof24-Epibrassinolide(EBL),anactivebrassinosteroid,incottoncultivarsagainsttheNaClstress.NinecottoncultivarsweretestedfortheirgerminationresponsestovaryingNaClconcentrations.Accordingtogerminationtestresult,twotolerant(Nazilli84-SandCarmen)andtwosensitive(Sahin2000andBeyazAltin119)cultivarswereselectedfortheexperiments.Seedsoffourcultivarsweresoakedin3μMEBLfor24handseedlingswereirrigatedwithsolutioncontainingthevariousconcentrationofNaCl(0,50,100and150mM).Germination,growth(freshweight,dryweight,shootandrootlength)andpigmentcontent(chlorophylla,chlorophyllbandcarotenoid)reducedundersalinitystresswhereasthetreatmentwithEBLalleviatedtheinhibitoryeffectsofsaltstress.UnderhighNaClstress,superoxidedismutase(SOD),guaiacolperoxidase(GPX)andprolinecontentsincreasedin21-old-daysseedlings;howeverEBLfurtherincreasedtheactivityofantioxidantenzymesandprolinecontentincottoncultivars.
