【 摘 要 】

EucalyptuscamaldulensisDehnh.isregardedtopossessvariousmedicinalpropertiessuchasanesthetic,antiseptic,astringentandantidiabetic,buttherearefewstudiesonitsantibacterialeffects.InthepresentstudyantibacterialactivityofE.camaldulensison100MultiDrugResistantisolatesofS.aureus,A.baumannii,P.aeruginosa,K.pneumoniaeandE.coliwereevaluated.E.camaldulensissampleswerecollectedfromthefieldsofUrmiainNorthwesternIran.Plantswerecut,andpowderwasprepared.Powderedplantswereextractedbymacerationatroomtemperaturefor72hours.BacterialisolateswerecollectedfromclinicalspecimensofdifferentwardsofeducationalhospitalsinUrmia,Iranduringa12-monthperiod.ThesusceptibilityofisolatestoE.camaldulensisextractswasdeterminedusingabrothmicrodilutionmethod.Consideringtothewideapplicationofciprofloxacinintreatmentofbacterialnosocomialinfections,theantibacterialeffectsofciprofloxacinonisolateswasalsodetermined.Allthemulti-drugresistantbacterialisolatesweresensitivetodifferentconcentrationsofE.camaldulensishydro-alcoholicextract.ThemostsensitivebacterialisolatestoE.camaldulensisextractswereP.aeruginosaisolates,although69%ofisolateswereresistanttociprofloxacin.Resultsdemonstratedthatthisherbaldrugmayrepresentanewsourceofantimicrobialagentforcontrollingthehospitalacquiredinfections.However,studiesthataremoreadequatemustbecarriedouttoverifythepossibilityofusingitforfightingthesebacteriainhumaninfections.
