【 摘 要 】
Inordertostudytheeffectsofplantingdateonseedyield,yieldcomponentsandessentialoilcontentandcomponentsofajowan,anexperimentwascarriedoutintheexperimentalfieldofAgricultureCollegeofShirazUniversityin2007year.Theexperimentswereconductedbasedondesignrandomizedcompleteblockswithsixtreatmentandfourreplications.Treatmentsincludedsixdifferentplantingdate(in30-dayintervalsfromOctobertoMarch).TheessentialoilwasextractedbywaterdistilledmethodfromseedsanditwasanalyzedbyGasChromatography(GC).Measuredtraitsinajowanplantsweresignificantlyaffectedbyplantingdates.Bydelayinplantingdate,plantheight,numberofbranchesperplant,numberofumbels/plant,seedyield,1000seedweight,biologicyieldandessentialoilyieldsignificantlywerereduced.Highestofseedyield(650.1kg/ha)wasobtainedfromOctoberdateandalsoplantingdatehadsignificanteffectonessentialoilcontentandcomposition.Thymolisthemaincomponentofoil.Onthewhole,themaximumthymol(61.85)ofajowanwasobtainedatthefirstplantingdate.Theothermajoroilconstituentswereγ-terpinene(27.35%)p-cymene(11.79%)andβ-pinene(14.04%).AjowanplantscanbesuccessfullygrownintheFarsregionsbyearlyOctoberasthebesttimeforsowing.
