【 摘 要 】
Humanhealthisnotachievableunlessadequateamountsofnutritiousandsafefoodsareavailableandaccessibleduringalllifestages.Anestimatedone-thirdoftheworld’spopulation,largelyinthedevelopingworld,iscurrentlyfoodandnutritioninsecure.Themostobvioususeofplantproductsintraditionalbiotechnologywasforfood.Newandevenbettervarietieswereproducedwhenearlyhumanslearnedtocross-pollinateplantsandbecameplantbreeders.Soybeanbreedinghasresultedinsignificantimprovementsinyieldpotential,stabilityofyield,adaptationofthespeciestomechanicalharvest,andyieldprotectionthroughimproveddiseaseresistance.Duetothenatureofplantscienceagriculture,broadlydefinedasamanipulationofavailableplantresourcestomeettheneedsofthegrowinghumanpopulation,theenvironmentinwhichplantsaregrownforagriculturalproductioncontinuouslyoffersnewobstaclestoagriculturalproduction.Thepresentinventionprovidesatissuecultureofregenerablecellsfromaplant,orpartsthereof,producedbygrowingseedandasoybeanplantregeneratedfromthetissueculture.Thepresentinventionalsoprovidesamethodfordevelopingasoybeanplantinasoybeanbreedingprogramusingplantbreedingtechniques.
