【 摘 要 】

ThisstudywasdesignedtoevaluatetheantimicrobialactivityofthreeextractsoftheleavesoftheArummaculatumL.plantbelongingtotheAroidaefamilycollectedfromKahramanmaraş,Turkey.Manyeffortshavebeenmadetodiscovernewantimicrobialcompoundsfromavarietyofsourcessuchasmicro-organisms,animalsandplants.Onesuchsourceisfolkmedicine.Systematicscreeningofthemmayresultinthediscoveryofnoveleffectivecompounds.Theseextractswerefirstpreparedwithpetroleumether,methanolandethylacetatesolventsbySoxhletextraction.Theantimicrobialactivityoftheextractswasthenassessedusingtheagar-welldiffusionmethodagainstgram-positive,gram-negativebacteria,andyeastandmoulds.AllextractsofArummaculatumL.showedgoodactivityagainstsometypeofbacteria(Bacilluscereus,Micrococcusluteus,Pseudomonasphaseolicola,YersiniaenterocoliticaandEnterobacteraerogenes)andamold(Aspergillusniger).Theactivitywascomparedwithknownantibioticssuchasvancomycine,tetracyclineandamphotericinB
