【 摘 要 】
Fieldexperimentswereconductedduring2008yearintheExperimentalFarmofShirazUniversitylocatedinthesouthwestregionofIran(aclaysiltloamsoil,asemi-aridmoderateclimaticarea),tostudytheeffectsofphosphorusfertilizationontheessentialoilcontent,freshanddryweight,plantandflowerclusterheightandchlorophyllcontentofbasil(OcimumbasilicumL.).Phosphorusfertilizerwassprayedat0,2,4,6,8and10%attwotimeofbasilgrowth(20and60%fullflowering).Theessentialoilwasobtainedbyhydro-distillationfromtheherboftheplant.Accordingtotheresults,phosphorusspraytreatmentshadmarkedeffectsontheessentialoilcontentofbasil.Applicationofphosphorussignificantlyincreasedtheessentialoilcontent.2%treatmentproducedthehighestamountofessentialoil(0.93%)inaerialpartsand10%treatmentproducedthemaximumamountofplantandflowerclusterheight(54.33and17.73cm).However,freshanddryweightwasnotaffectedsignificantly.
