【 摘 要 】
Inthisstudy,isolationandidentificationofmicroorganismsfrompetroleumrefinerywastewaterwithbiosurfactantproducingabilityandcharacterizationofbiosurfactantswereinvestigated.Biosurfactantproductionabilityofmicroorganismsisolatedfromwastewaterwasdeterminedbydropcollapsemethod.TheinitialcharacterizationofbiosurfactantswasinvestigatedbybiochemicaltestsandFTIRanalysis.Biosurfactantswereinvestigatedforpotentialantimicrobialactivityasinhibitionzone,minimuminhibitoryconcentration,andminimumbactericidalconcentrationagainstmedicallyimportantbacterialstrains.Wefoundthatthebiosurfactantsshowedprofoundlydistinctantimicrobialactivitytowardtestorganisms.MaximumantibacterialactivitywasshownbyBS-IIIagainstK.pneomoniaefollowedbyBS-IVagainstE.coli.Alsobiosurfactantsdisplayedaantifungalactivityagainsttestedyeastswiththediametersofzoneinhibitionrangingbetween12and17mm.ThemaximumantifungalactivitywasobtainedwithBS-IIIagainstC.krusei.TheMICvaluesobtainedinthisstudywerelowerthantheMBCvaluesforalltestedbiosurfactants.MaximumMBCvalueswererecordedwithE.coliandwere64mg/mlforBS-I.Themaincommercialuseofbiosurfactantsisoilindustry,foodsandenvironmentaltechnologybecauseoftheirabilitytostabilizeemulsions.Theantimicrobialactivityofbiosurfactantshasnotbeenreviewedextensively.Frompreliminarycharacterizationresultsitcanbesaidthatbiosurfactantsareasuitablealternativeinpotentialapplicationsofmedicalfields.
