【 摘 要 】

TabiqueconstructioncorrespondstoarelevantPortugueseheritage.Urbanandruraltabiqueconstructionsexistalloverthecountry.Thistraditionalbuildingtechniquestartedtobeindisuseafterthemassiveintroductionofthereinforcedconcrete.Therefore,tabiquebuildingsarealreadyagedand,ingeneral,theyshowsignsofdegradation.Recentresearchworksledtotheconclusionthatthisdegradationstageisessentiallycausedbytheabsenceofaregularandpropermaintenance.Thefactthattabiquebuildingsaremainlyprivateproperty,thatthereareeconomicallimitationsandthatthereisstillalackofknowledgeconcerningthistraditionalbuildingtechnique,havebeenthemainreasonsidentifiedtoitsdegradation.Inordertocontributetosolvethisproblem,thispaperintendstogiveaninputonthecharacterizationoftimberframestructuralsystemoftabiquewalls.Infact,atabiquebuildingelementisastructuralsystemformedbyatimberframecoatedwithanearthrender.Technicalinformationrelatedtodistincttraditionalstructuralsolutionsaregivenandmaybehelpfulinfuturerehabilitationprocesses.
