Inthispaperweintroducedananalysisoftechnologicalparametersofthemid-classharvestersJohnDeere770DandValmet911.1.Wefocusedontheirproductionrate,movementandworkinrelationtoecologicaleffectsoftheiractivityinforeststands.Inthenextpartweofferedabriefanalysisoftheeconomicefficiencyofthesemid-classharvestersincomparisonwithclassicmethodsoftimberharvestingandskiddinginthinningsinmountainousterrainsofCentralSlovakiandash;ForestEnterpriseKrivaacute;#328;and#268;iernyBalog.Weobtainedprimarydataduringtherealizationofprematurelogginginthethinningforeststandsofthemountainousterrains.Thisworkalsocontainedabriefdescriptionoftechnicalparametersoftheharvestersandaproposalofanoptimalorsuboptimaltechnologyinthinnings.Theresultsconfirmedtheeconomicefficiencyofpresentedharvestersinprematurefellingofconiferforeststands.Resultsofperformancesndash;Valmet6.5m3middot;h-1andJohnDeere5.7m3middot;h-1arecomparablewiththeresultsoftheothersauthorsinsimilarproductionconditions.
