Influence of Varying Temperature on Life Stages of Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) under Laboratory Conditions

【 摘 要 】

AlaboratorystudywasconductedtoevaluatetheinfluenceofdifferenttemperaturesonlifestagesofChrysoperlacarnea(Stephens)onfrozeneggsofSitotrogacrealella.ThestudywasconductedunderlaboratoryconditionsatDepartmentofPlantProtection,SAU,TandojamSindh,Pakistanduring2013-14.Theresultrevealedthatthemaximumhatching88%ofeggswasrecordedat28ºCfollowedby25,31,22,34and37ºC.Thehighestmortality(dx)wasrecordedinfirstinstarat34ºCfollowedbyat22,31,37,25and28ºC,whereas,minimum(dx)wasrecordedinthirdinstarandpupalstagesaswell.Thehighestandlowestapparentmortality(100qx)wasobservedinthefirstinstarandeggstagesat37ºC.Thedatafurtherdepictedthatthehighestsurvivalfraction(Sx)wasrecordedas(0.98)insecondinstar,thirdinstarandpupaat28ºC,whereas,thelowest(Sx)wasobservedas(0.13)inthefirstinstarat37ºC.Themaximumindispensablemortality(IM)was42ineggstageat37ºCandlowest1.0inpupalstageatalltemperatureregimes.Thenumberofthesurvivingatthebeginningofthestage(lx)washighest39adultsemergedat28ºCfollowedby31,24,20and5adultsemergedat25,31,22and34ºC,respectively.Ontheotherhand,minimumtotalgenerationmortality(K)wasrecordedas0.11at28ºCfollowedby0.21,0.32,0.40,and1.00at25,31,22and34ºC,respectively.Theminimumdurationfromeggtoadultemergencewas12.0daysat34ºCandmaximum23.5daysat22ºC.Therewassignificantdifferencebetweenthedurationandtreatments(Plt;0.05).Itisconcludedthatthemaximummortalitywasrecordedat37ºCineggandfirstinstarstages,noanystagewassurvivedaftersecondinstar.Thetemperaturerangesfrom25to31ºChavebeenprovedsuitableforthedevelopmentofC.carnea..However,1stand2ndinstarsurvivedforshortperiodat37ºConly.
