【 摘 要 】

TheearlyrudistbivalveValletiaantiquaFavreinJoukowskyFavre,1913isrecordedforthefirsttimefromtheTithoniantoBerriasianÅ tramberkLimestone(northeasternCzechRepublic)andErnstbrunnLimestone(LowerAustria).Thespeciesisre-describedanditsspatialdistributionandstratigraphicalrangeareoutlined.Furthermore,thepalaeoecologyofValletiaantiquaisdiscussedinthelightofnoveldataonpalaeocommunitiesandmicrofacies,habitatselectionandintraspecificcompetitionforsettlingspaceamongjuveniles.ThestudyissupplementedwithacommentedlistofallnominalspeciesthathavebeenassignedtoValletia,includingdataontypelocalities,typestrata,anddistribution.
