【 摘 要 】

Illaenidtrilobiteswererelativelyscarceinsouth-polarperi-GondwananareasduringtheOrdovician,withalltheirAfricanoccurrencesrestrictedtotheMiddleandUpperOrdovicianofMorocco.Ataspecificlevel,onlytheBohemianformEctillaenusbenignensis(Novák)hasbeenpositivelyidentifiedfromtheMiddleOrdovicianofthatregion.InthepresentworkweaddthediscoveryofthenewformCaudillaenusnicolasigen.etsp.nov.,occurringinasinglebedoflateDarriwilian2agewithintheTaddristFormationoftheRahiatregion(southofAlnif),inthecentralMoroccanAnti-Atlas.Thenewgenusischaracterizedbyalargeandsubtriangularpygidium,acephalonwithrelativelylargeeyes,abroadrostralplatewithashortupwardlyandforwardlyturnedposteriorflange,andaglobosehypostome.Itshowsaspheroidalenrolmenttypepreviouslyunknowninillaenids,withthepygidiumprotrudingbeyondthecephalon,andthecephalicmarginfittingintoashallowandwidecoaptativefurrowonthepygidialdoublure.
