WereportfragmentaryspecimensfromthePiesbergquarry(UpperCarboniferous,NorthwesternGermany)thatrepresentexuviaeofnymphalblattoids(Dictyoptera).Mostoftheremainsareisolatedabdomina,onespecimenalsopreservesawingpad.ThespecimensdocumenttwodevelopmentalstagesandincludethesmallestPalaeozoicblattoidnymphfoundtodate.ThespecimensfromthePiesbergquarrycloselyresembleotherPalaeozoicblattoidnymphs,forexample,specimensfromthefamousMazonCreekLagerstätte(UpperCarboniferous,Illinois,USA),atleastasfarasexternalmorphologyisconcerned.Asforpreservation,thespecimensfromthePiesbergquarryshowstrongresemblancetospecimensfromtheLowerPermianElmoLagerstätte(KansasandOklahoma,USA).ThetwoLagerstätten,althoughdifferinginage,appearthereforetobeinterestingcandidatesforapalaeoecologicalcomparison.ThefindofimmatureinsectsatthePiesbergquarryisanotherexampleoffossiliseddevelopmentinarthropodsfromthisLagerstätte,otherexamplesareknownfromEuproops,ArthropleuraandAphantomartuspustulatus
