ImportantnewichnologicaldatawasobtainedfromtheIspartaCcedil;ayFormation(TriassictoearlyCretaceous),Koccedil;tepeFormation(middlePaleocenetoEarlyEocene),IspartaFormation(EarlytoMiddleEocene)and#304;ncesuFormation(MiddleEocenetoEarlyOligocene).TheseformationsaresignificantlyexposedintheE#287;irdir,Gouml;nenandIspartaregionswithinthenorthernpartoftheIspartaAngle.Anoverviewofthestratigraphyanditstrace-fossilbearingformationsandmicrofossilcontentispresentedtogetherwithrecommendations.Thedensityanddiversityoftracefossilsvarybetweenandwithintheseformations,whichoriginatedindeep-marineshelfslopeandshelfenvironmentsoftheNeotethysocean.Changesinthefrequencyofabruptturbiditicdeposition,oxygenationofthebottomwaterandpossiblyfoodavailabilityarereflectiveinthetracefossildistribution.ThetracefossilsoftheIspartaCcedil;ay,Koccedil;tepeandIspartaformationsaretypicalofdeep-marinesettingswithoccasionalhigh-energyturbiditicconditions.TheIspartaCcedil;ayFormation(Paleodictyonichnosubfacies)isseenasthebedrocksoftheregion,whereastheIspartaFormation(Ophiomorpharudisichnosubfacies)overliesconformablytheKoccedil;tepeFormation(NereitesandArenicolitesichnofacies).The#304;ncesuFormationislaterallyinterlacedwiththeIspartaFormation.Ahighdiversityoftracefossilsoccursinthe#304;ncesuFormation(Zoophycosichnofacies),whichwasformedinanoutershelfenvironment.FindingsfrompreviousichnologicalinvestigationsinTurkeyarecompiledandcomparedwiththepresentresultsfromtheIspartaAngle.
