【 摘 要 】
AvarietyoffossilwoodsoccuronthenorthernmarginoftheDoupovskéhoryVolcanicComplexinthenorthwesternpartoftheCzechRepublic.Thewoodswereburiedbythreedifferentprocessesreflectingthreedifferentsettings.First,alargeareabetweenthetownsofKadaňandKláštereciscoveredbyanupto100mthicksequenceoflaharanddebrisavalanchedeposits.TheseflowsandavalanchesgatheredwoodofLiriodendron,Lauraceae,Platanus,Cercidiphyllum,?CraigiaandStyracaceaefromboththevolcaniccomplexslopesandadjacentplains.Second,arichassemblageoffossilwoodswiththermophilouselementssuchasLauraceaeandpalmswaspreservedonthenorthernvolcaniccomplexperipherybyaStrombolianeruptionofamonogeniccone.Third,ashallowlakeformedtothesideofthevolcaniccomplex,wherePlatanustrunkswerefossilizedinthetravertine.ThewoodofLiriodendronhasneverbeenpreviouslyrecordedinthelocalitiesrepresentingvolcaniccomplexfoothills,butiscommoninthelocallahardeposits.ThisdistributionleadsustohypothesizethatLiriodendronforestsdominatedhighertopographiclevelsoftheDoupovskéhoryVolcanicComplex,reaching,butprobablynotexceeding1000ma.s.l.
