Spirorbid-likewormtubes,identifiedasmicroconchids(Tentaculita)onthebasisofmorphologicalandmicrostructuralfeatures,werecommonandoccupiedawidearrayofenvironmentsduringthePalaeozoicandTriassic.IntheJurassic,however,microconchidswereveryrare,representedbyonlyonegenus,PunctaconchusVinnTaylor,2007,andconfinedtonormalmarinesettings.Inthepresentpaper,themicroconchidPunctaconchusampliporusVinnTaylor,2007,characterisedbylargepunctaepenetratingtheexteriorofthetubes,isdescribedfromtheMiddleJurassicofthePolishJuraforthefirsttime.IndividualswerefoundencrustingLowerBathonianoncoliths.TheirlowabundanceanddiversityontheoncolithsmayreflectpoorcompetitiveabilityforsubstratespaceleadinguptothefinalextinctionofthegroupinthelateBathonian.
