New interpretations of the phylogeny and taxonomy of delthyridoid spiriferids (Brachiopoda, Lower and Middle Devonian)

【 摘 要 】

AnewphylogenyisintroducedforLowerandMiddleDevoniandelthyridoidspiriferidswithplicatedfoldandsulcusandbifurcatingandtrifurcatingribs.Thenewinterpretationisbasedonside-by-sidecomparisonofthetypespeciesofthegenerawithspecialfocusonthemicro-ornamentationandthestyleofribbing,especiallyinthesulcus.Duringtherevisionofthisgroupthefollowingtaxaareproposed:Multispiriferidaefam.nov,Ovetensispirifernovascotianusgen.etsp.nov.,Turcispiriferturciaegen.et.sp.nov.;threetaxaaredescribedinopennomenclature:gen.nov.A,?Turcispirifersp.A,andOvetensispirifercf.ovetensium.Inthesystematicpart,eachgenusisdescribedincludingitstypespeciesofthestudiedgroup.Emendeddiagnosesfromfamilytospecieslevelaregiven.Asaconsequenceofthisstudy,thegeographicdistributionofthetaxaofeachevolutionarybranchemphasizestheendemicitypresentduringEarlyDevoniantimeanditsdeclineatthebeginningoftheMiddleDevonian.However,ontheotherhand,faunalpathwaysareshownfromWesternEuropetoNovaScotia,fromNorthAfricaoverTurkeytoEasternAsiaandtoArcticCanada,andprobablyfromVenezuelatoNorthAfrica.
