Thenewshallow-waterBivalviaJaniculapotensCommunityfromthelowerGorstiancarbonateplatforminfluencedbytheSvatýJanVolcanoactivityinthePragueBasin,Bohemiaiscomposedof32species[SlavasathonKříž,1985(Slavidae);CardioladonigalaKřížinKřížSerpagli,1993,CardiolasignataBarrande,1881,Cardiolaaff.GeminansBarrande,1881(Cardiolidae);Dualinaaminasp.nov.(Antipleuridae);MilaparvulaKřížinKřížSerpagli,1993(Stolidotidae);Algerinaaff.algenaKříž,2008,Tetinkacostuliferasp.nov.(Spanilidae);Macrodesmaenigmasp.nov.(Cyrtodontidae);Phthoniaregularis(Barrande,1881)(Mytilidae);Ambonychiavolitans(Barrande,1881),Amphicoeliapojetanasp.nov.,Mytilarcaparens(Barrande,1881),Mytilarcasp.(Ambonychiidae);Molinicolabohemicasp.nov.(Pterineidae);Palaeopectenradvanisp.nov.,Palaeopectensp.(Leiopectinidae);Rhombopteriaperunicolasp.nov.(Rhombopteriidae);PraeostreabohemicaBarrande,1881(Praeostreidae);Butovicellamigrans(Barrande,1881)(Butovicellidae);Mimerodontaphaseolussp.nov.,Janiculapotens(Barrande,1881),GoniophoratyriLiljedahl,1984,Goniophoraasciasp.nov.,Goniophoracomptasp.nov.,Goniophorasolcisp.nov.,Goniophorasp.(Modiomorphidae);Goniophorinanitidulasp.nov.(Goniophorinidae);Cymatonotaprolatasp.nov.,Cimitarialiscinasp.nov.,Cimitariacf.liscinasp.nov.,Sanguinolites?drupasp.nov.(Grammysiidae)].Inthepaperonenewgenus(Janiculagen.nov.),and15newspeciesaredescribed.TheJaniculapotensCommunityoccupiedtheenvironmentofprotectedwell-ventilatedshallow-waterflats,locallyovergrownbyalgae,withcarbonatesedimentationinfluencedbydirectashfallsandthesubsequentsedimentationofvolcaniclasticsbycurrentsaroundthevolcanicarchipelago.Itisaccompaniedbyarichbenthos,especiallycrinoids,corals,gastropods,andbrachiopodstogetherwithabundanttrilobites,rostroconchids,commoncephalopods,stromatoporids,relativelyrareostracods,tergomyans,polyplacophorids,worms,bryozoans,sponges,andalgae.ItisclassifiedasapartoftheCoral-CrinoidCommunityGroupwhichinthePragueBasin,BohemiaincludesthehomologousandanalogouslateHomerian,WenlockCoral-LeptaenidCommunity,Hircinisca-AncillotoechiaCommunity,andSeptatrypalissodermis-CyrtiamaiorCommunity,theearlyGorstian,LudlowAtrypafumosaCommunity,andtheConiproetus-ProtocymostrophiaCommunity.TheJaniculapotensCommunityfromtheLiščíQuarrylocalityneartheAmerikagamekeeper’slodgenorthofKarlštejn,BohemiaisthemostdiversifiedBivalviacommunityintheSilurianofthePragueBasin.ThelowerGorstiantuffaceouslimestones,withmorethan202benthicandnektobenthicknownspecies,representthemostfossiliferousSilurianlevelinthePragueBasin.TheJaniculapotensCommunityshowsclosepalaeogeographicrelationshipswiththeupperWenlock,RacineFormationreefsofWisconsinandIllinois(NorthAmerica),SilurianofGotlandandDalarna(Sweden),Maine(NorthAmerica),andNovaScotia(Canada).
