ThemorphologyofelementsoftheparaconodontgenusWestergaardodinafoundintheEarlyOrdoviciandepositsofBohemiaresemblesthatoftheLateCambrianspeciesW.bicuspidataandW.polymorpha.ThepresenceofWestergaardodinaisconsistentwiththesuggestedUpperTremadocianageofitshorizon,asreworkingoftheUpperCambriansedimentseemsunlikelyforgeologicalandtaphonomicreasons.ThisisthefirstreportofthisgenusfromtheOrdovicianintheEuropeanpartofperi-Gondwana.
