ThepresentarticlerevisesdescriptionsofSiluriandiscinoidbrachiopodsbyJ.deC.SowerbyandT.Davidsoninthemid-nineteenthcentury,andofoldcollectionsfromclassicpalaeontologicalsitesinBritain,currentlyhousedintheNaturalHistoryMuseum,London.OrbiculaforbesiiDavidson,1848,O.rugataJ.deC.SowerbyinMurchison,1839,O.striataJ.deC.SowerbyinMurchison,1839,DiscinaverneuiliiDavidson,1848arere-described.ThegenusRugadiscinaandthespeciesAcrosaccuswoolhopensis,AcrosaccuscocksiandSchizotretawalkeriareerected.Discina?cf.rarissimaBarrande,1879andthegenusLochkothelearedocumentedfromtheSilurianofBritainforthefirsttime.AlthoughthegenericcompositionoftheBritishWenlockdiscinoidfaunaissimilartothatoftheBarrandianareainBohemia,differencesatthespecieslevelconfirmtheseparationoftheseterrainsduringtheSilurian.
