Inthisstudy,wepresentatheoreticaloverviewofthereadingofnewruralities,drawingonAnthropologicalandotherSocialScienceresearchinpeasantstudiesandruralstudies.Consideringruralityfromahistoricalperspectiveandviewingitwithinthecontextofprocessesofsocioculturalurbanization,weexaminethepurposeandmeaningsofruraltransformationsbytakingintoaccounttheheterogeneityofthesocialagentsinvolvedandanalysingthenewrevitalizationofthesespaces.
