【 摘 要 】

Thispaperpresentstheresultsofacomparativelongitudinalstudyofeducationalachievementbetweentwosamplesofyoungpeople:thosewhostayedwiththeirfamiliesintheirhometowninMexico,andthosefromthesameplacewhoemigratedtoCaliforniaorwereborntoimmigrantparentsintheUnitedStates.Thefewlongitudinalstudiesofthetrajectoriesfromadolescencetoadulthoodofchildrenofimmigrants,suchasCILSintheU.S.andILSEGinSpain,comparegroupsofyouthinthesamecountry.Thiswork,theLongitudinalStudyofEducationalAchievement(ELLE)inMexicoandtheUnitedStates,employsqualitativeandquantitativemethodsnotonlytocomparethesituationofyoungpeopleandtheirparentsofthesameoriginintwocountriesduringperiodsofcrisisbetween2008-2012,butalsocomparestheoutcomesofundocumented,documentedandU.S.citizenyouthinimmigrantfamiliesinCalifornia.
