Periodicalpublicationsplayavitalroleforthescientificcommunity,astheyconstitutethemediumandvehicleforexpression,dissemination,anddebate.Fromthispremise,thearticlerecallstheeditorialhistoryofanthropologyjournalsinSpain,thebeginningsofwhichareassociatedwithacademicinstitutionalizationofthedisciplineinthecountry.AmongthemisoneofthedeansoftheGazetadeAntropologíawhichin2012marked30yearssinceitsfirstissue,atimetocelebratetheirachievements,butalsoforreflectionandanalysisofwhereascientificjournalcan/shouldgo.ThepossibilitiesofferedbytheInternetallowresearchandknowledgetobesharedmuchfasterthandecadesago,andevenmoreeconomically.Thesematterscertainlyneedtobeconsidered.
