Cancerisaleadingcauseofdeathintheworld.Conventionaltreatmentshaveseveresideeffectsandlowsurvivalrate.Itisimportanttodiscovernewtargetsandtherapeuticstrategiestoimprovetheclinicaloutcomesofcancerpatients.Ionchannelsarespecializedmembraneproteinsthatplayimportantrolesinvariousphysiologicalprocesses.Recentstudieshaveshownthatabnormalexpressionand/oractivityofanumberofionchannelse.g.voltage-gatedK+,Na+,Ca2+channels,TRPchannels,andepithelialNa+/degenerinfamilyofionchannels,areinvolvedinthegrowth/proliferation,migrationand/orinvasionofcancercells.Inthisreview,wesummarizethepresentknowledgeabouttherolesofdifferentionchannelsinthedevelopmentofcancer(IJPPP1106003).
