【 摘 要 】

Althoughcalcareousalgaeareknownbothinpresentenvironmentsandfossilrecords,fromshelfandupperslopesettings,eitherinwarmseasforgreenalgaeoratalllatitudesforredalgae,westillneedmodelstoquantifytheirabundanceinspaceandtime.Calcareousalgaeareanimportantcomponentofbiogeniccarbonateproductionbuttheyareverysensitivetomarineacidificationandriseintemperature,asillustratedbytheeffectsofongoingglobalchange.Contributionshereinwerefirstpresentedatthe6thRegional(European)SymposiumoftheInternational“FossilAlgae”Association:theyincludetworeviewsrespectivelydevotedtothecarbonateproductionofredandgreenalgae,andasuiteofinvestigationscoveringquantification,faciesdelineation,andcontrollingfactorsspanningthepresent-dayMediterraneanSeaandEasternPacificgoingbacktotheJurassicofRomania.
