【 摘 要 】

Cocculinellafretin.sp.,fromArchiandValanidi(ReggioCalabria)andCocculinelabertolasoin.sp.,fromValanidi(ReggioCalabria)andCapoMilazzo(Messina,Sicily),aredescribedfromthreesouthernItalianLowerPleistoceneoutcrops(bathyalassemblages).NospeciesofthegenusCocculinellaThiele,1909isknownfromtheAtlanticandtheMediterranean,whereasthreelivingspeciesareknownfromtheIndo-Pacific.Verylittle,mostlyquestionableinformationisknownonfossilspeciesofthegenus.ThepresentreportisthefirstunequivocalfossilrecordofCocculinella,allowingthestratigraphicandbiogeographicrangeofthegenustobeextendedtotheLowerPleistoceneoftheMediterranean.
