Anewspecies,newcombinations,synonyms,lectotypesandneotypesforCombretumLoefl.(Combretaceae)fromcontinentalAfricanandMadagascararepublished.EspeciallythelumpingofCombretumplatypetalumWelw.exM.A.LawsonwiththeolderCombretumsericeumG.Donisanimportantchange.CombretumgordoniiJongkind,sp.nov.isnewlydescribed,noCombretumspecieswithdenselyhairyandmoreorlessauriculateleavesincombinationwithinfundibuliformflowerswasknownyetfromMadagascar.ThenewcombinationsC.comosumG.Donvar.dolichopetalum(Engleramp;Diels)Jongkind,comb.nov.andC.comosumvar.hispidum(M.A.Lawson)Jongkind,comb.nov.aremadebecausetheintermediatespecimensbetweentheformerspeciesdidmakeituntenabletomaintainthesetaxaonspecieslevel.
