【 摘 要 】

HAYABUSAwasthefirstasteroidsamplereturnmissionlaunchedfromUchinoura,Japanin2003.Thesamplecapsulere-enteredtheEarth'satmosphereatapproximately13:50(UT)on2010June13th,andsafelylandedontheWoomeraProhibitedArea(WPA)inAustralia.Thecapsulehadtobefoundandretrievedassoonaspossibletoreduceanycontaminationrisk.OnthemorningoftheJune13thand14th,thelandingareawasimagedbyusingRemoteSensingInstrument(RSI)onboardtheFormosat-2satellitetolocatetheHAYABUSAre-entrymodule,consistingofacapsuleandaparachute.Inspiteofanaccurategeometricregistrationandradiancecomparisonoftheimagepair,nostatisticallysignificantradiancevariationwasfoundonthelandingsite.Itwasdemonstratedthroughthisexperiment,however,thatsatelliteimagerycouldbeapromisingbackuptoolforthepromptdiscoveryandretrievalofthesamplingcapsuleoftheHAYABUSAfollow-onmissionifwecanutilizespace-borneimagerswithsub-meterspatialresolutionandshortrevisitcapability.
