【 摘 要 】
Threeshort-duration“outburstsâ€,inwhichmorethan20–40meteorsappearedinafewseconds,havebeenreportedduringarecentLeonidstorm.Themeteorsintheseeventswereextremelylocalizedwithinafewhundredkm,whichshouldbecausedbyclustersofmeteoroids.Theexistenceofsuchclustersindicatesthefragmentationofmeteoroidsduringorbitalmotionininterplanetaryspace.Consideringtheextentofthespatialdistribution,thefragmentationshouldhaveoccurredataroundtheperihelionpassageofthemeteoroidsjustbeforeencounteringtheEarth.Thismaycauseapossibleenhancementofsmallermeteoroids,eveninolddusttrails.ApossibleexampleofsimilarclustersinthepastmeteorstormofGiacobinidsisalsonoted.
