Weperformedmagnetohydrodynamic(MHD)simulationsofagiantarcadeformationwithamodelofmagneticreconnectioncoupledwithheatconduction,toinvestigatethedynamicalstructureofslowandfastMHDshocksassociatedwithreconnection.Basedonthenumericalresults,theoreticalsoftX-rayimageswerecalculatedandcomparedwiththeYohkohsoftX-rayobservationsofagiantarcadeon1992January24.TheY-shapedstructureobservedintheeventwasidentifiedtocorrespondtotheslowandfastshocksassociatedwiththemagneticreconnection.
