WereportontheresultsofCCDimagingoftheradiantpointsofLeonidswiththe105cmKisoSchmidttelescopeduringitsstormin2001.Thecentercoordinatesoftheobservedfieldwere$$alpha(mathrm{J}2000.0)={10{}^{mathrm{h}}17{}^{mathrm{m}}02lap{.}{}^{mathrm{s}}4}$$and$$delta(mathrm{J}2000.0)=+{21{}^{mathrm{circ}}37{}^{mathrm{prime}}48lap{.}{}^{mathrm{primeprime}}0}$$,correspondingtothecenterpositionbetweenthetworadiantpointsoriginatingfromdusttrailscreatedbythe1699and1866returnsoftheComet55P/Tempel–Tuttle(McNaught,Asher2001;WGN,29,156).SixCCDimageshavingafieldofviewof$${51lap{.}{}^{mathrm{prime}}2}imes{51lap{.}{}^{mathrm{prime}}2}$$wereobtainedsuccessivelyfrom16h58 mto18h28 monNovember18(UT)inordertocoverthetwoexpectedpeaksofactivityofthedistinctradiantpoints.Alimitingsurfacebrightnessof$$25.93,mathrm{mag},mathrm{arcsec}^{-2}$$,i.e.,the$$1,sigma$$noiseleveloftheskybackground,wasachievedineachimage.Asaresult,wedetectedonlyonefaintLeonidmeteorwhichmostlikelyoriginatedfromadusttrailcreatedbythe1866return.Theintegratedtotalmagnitudeofthemeteoris$$m_{V}=18.34pm0.34,mathrm{mag}$$ontheimage.Assumingadurationtimeof0.1–1 s,weestimatethemagnitudeatthemaximumluminosityofthismeteortobe$$9.70pm1.59,mathrm{mag}$$.Thiscorrespondstoaphotometricmassof$$(2.65^{+13.5}_{-2.22})imes10^{-10},mathrm{kg}$$,whichmakesthismeteoroneofthefaintestandsmallestLeonidsdetectedsofar.
