WehavemappedanMgiantstar,IRC⤓10414,intheSiOJ=1–0v=1lineat43.1GHzwiththeVLBA‡withaspatialresolutionofbetterthan0.5mas.Themaserspotsspreadoveronacirclehavingaradiusofabout7.1mas.Avelocitygradientintheeast-westdirectionof∼0.7kms−1mas−1isfound.MonitoringobservationswithNobeyama45-mtelescopehaveshownthattheintensityratiooftheSiOJ=1–0v=1tov=2maserlinewasquiteunusual(5–40)fortheperiodof1997–1999inthisobject;thisratiowasknowntobeclosetounityinmanylate-typestellarobjects,butwasknowntodeviatestronglyfromunityinyoungstellarobjects.TheunusuallineintensityratioofthisstarmaysuggestachemicalorgeometricalanomalyoftheenvelopeofIRC–10414.Apossiblering/diskmodelisdiscussedinordertoexplainthedistributionofthemaserspotsinthisobject.
