WereportontheASCAX-rayspectrafromthenorthrimandthecenterofthesupernovaremnant(SNR)G156.2+5.7.ThespectraarefoundtocomprisesoftandhardX-raycomponents.Noclearshellstructurehasbeenfound,eitherinthesoftorinthehardX-raybands.ThesoftX-raysareattributabletoanon-equilibriumionizationplasmawithatemperatureof0.4keVandanionizationtimescaleof1011.0−11.2cm−3s.ASedovsolutionwithanexplosionenergyof1051ergleadstoanageof∼1.5×104yrandadensityofambientgasof∼0.2cm−3.ThedistancetoG156.2+5.7isestimatedtobe∼1.3kpc.TheabundancesofsiliconandsulfurvarybetweenthecenterandthenorthrimoftheSNR,whiletheabundancesofallotherelementsdonot.ThehardcomponentcanbemodeledwitheitherthermalemissionofatemperaturehigherthanafewkeVoranon-thermalprocesswithapower-lawspectrumofphotonindex1.5–1.8.Sincetheformermodelrequiresanuncomfortablyhightemperature,wefavoranon-thermalmodel.WealsodiscussthenatureofapointsourcefoundattheedgeoftheSNR.
