Wehaveinvestigatedthechemicalevolutionofthesolarneighborhoodwithaparticularemphasisontheheliumabundanceandthecurrentsupernova(SN)rate,whiletakingintoaccounttheeffectsofthestellarmasslossonnucleosynthesisinstars.WefoundthattheScaloIMFcanreproducethesolar-heliumabundanceaswellasthecurrentratiooftype-Iatotype-(Ib+II)SNeforasuitablechoiceoftheclosebinaryfraction.Acurrenttype-Iatotype-(Ib+II)SNeratioaslowas0.1isfavoredinordertoreproducethesolar-ironabundance.Wehavenoticedthatthereexistsamethodtoestimatethemass-to-luminosityratioofourGalaxyandtheHubbleconstantbyassumingthatthecurrentSNerateofourGalaxyisthesameasthatofexternalSbcgalaxies.Bycombiningourbestmodelprediction,M/LB=12.3h2,withtheobservedvalue,M/LB=7.6h,weobtainedM/LB=4.7andH0∼62[kms−1Mpc−1]withafairlylargeuncertainty.
