【 摘 要 】

Celllineagehasbeenusedtoexplainthestomataldistributioninseveralplantspecies.Wehaveusedtransgenicplantscarryinga35SGUS::AcconstructthatproducesclonalsectorstoanalyzethepossibleroleofcelllineageduringtheestablishmentofstomatalpatterninginArabidopsisleaves.Theanalysisofsectorsrangingfromtwotoeighteencellssupportstheconclusionthatmoststomatalcomplexesderivefromasingleandimmediateprecursorcellthroughastereotypedpatternofthreeunequalcelldivisionsfollowedbyafinalequalone.Inaddition,itshowsthatthesuccessivecelldivisionstakeplaceataconstantangle(approximately60°)withrespecttothepreviousone.Interestingly,thisangulardimensionshiftsfrom60°to0°inthelastcelldivisionthatgivesrisetothestoma.Thesesectorsalsorevealthedevelopmentofbothclockwiseandcounterclockwisepatternsofcelldivisionsduringstomataldevelopmentinapproximatelyequalnumbers.Ourclonalanalysisindicatesthatcelldivisionsinvolvedinthedevelopmentofstomatalcomplexesareprobablythelastonescontributingtoepidermalgrowthanddevelopment.Finally,thestereotypedpatternofcelldivisionsthatculminatesintheformationofstomatalcomplexesindicatesthatcelllineageplaysaveryimportantroleduringstomatalpatternestablishment.
