【 摘 要 】
Duringorganogenesis,themiddletocaudalportionofMüllerianepitheliumdifferentiatesintouterineandvaginalepitheliainfemales.Functionaldifferentiationofuterineandvaginalepitheliaoccursinadulthood,andisregulatedby17β-estradiol(E2)andprogesterone.Inthisreport,therolesofmesenchyme/stromaindifferentiationofuterineandvaginalepitheliawerestudiedintissuerecombinationexperiments.Atbirth,Müllerianepitheliumwasnegativeforuterineandvaginalepithelialmarkers.TissuerecombinantexperimentsshowedthatuterineandvaginalgeneexpressionpatternswereinducedinneonatalMüllerianepitheliumbytherespectivemesenchymes.Differentiatedadultuterineandvaginalepitheliadidnotchangetheiroriginalgeneexpressioninresponsetoheterotypicmesenchymalinduction.Intheadultvagina,E2inducedexpressionofinvolucrin,aCCAAT/enhancer-bindingproteinβandcytokeratin1viaestrogenreceptorα(ERα).Tissuerecombinationexperimentswithwild-typeandERαknockoutmicedemonstratedthatepithelialgeneexpressionisregulatedbyE2viaepithelial–stromaltissueinteractions.Uterine/vaginalheterotypictissuerecombinationsdemonstratedthatfunctionaldifferentiationofuterineandvaginalepitheliarequiredorgan-specificstromalfactors.Incontrast,stromalsignalsregulatingepithelialproliferationappearedtobenonspecificintheuterusandvagina.
