【 摘 要 】

Manywaterbirdspeciesassembleinlargeaggregationsduringwinter.Inmostspecies,theseaggregationsaregenerallythoughttobecomposedofindividualsnotfamiliartoeachother.Inthisstudy,weanalysedmark-recapturedataofTuftedDucksAythyafuligulaandCommonPochardA.ferinafromfourwinteringplacesinSwitzerlandtoassesswhetherindividualbirdswererecapturednon-independentlyofeachotheroneormoreyearslater,WefoundthatindividualTuftedDuckscaughttogetherduringapreviouswinterwerere-caughttogethermoreoftenthanexpectedbychance.OurresultssuggestthatwinterflocksofTuftedDucksmaybesociallystructuredtoanextentunknownsofar.Wediscussanumberofhypothesesthatcouldexplainourobservations,butclearly,muchmoreworkneedstobedonetoconfirmourobservationandtounderstanditscauses.
