【 摘 要 】
WecomparedseasonalvariationsinbodyconditionandfueldepositionpatternsoffivecalidridsandpipersatChongmingDongtan(easternChina),astopoversiteintheEastAsian—AustralasianFlyway.Wetestedthehypothesisthatlong-distancemigrantsshowdifferentbodyconditionandfueldepositionpatternsrelativetothoseundertakingshort-distanceflights.Resultsindicatedthatthebodyconditionandfueldepositionpatternsofthesandpipersvariedbetweenthenorthwardandsouthwardmigrationseasonsandbetweenage-classes.GreatKnotsCalidristenuirostrisandRedKnotsCalidriscanutusmigratesouthwardsonalong-distancenonstopflightfromChongmingDongtantonorthwestAustralia,whilecoveringonthereturnflightarelativelyshort-distancebetweenChongmingDongtanandthenorthYellowSearegion.BothspeciesattainedasignificantlyhigherbodyconditionatChongmingDongtanduringthesouthwardthannorthwardmigration.Moreover,theyshowedasignificantincreaseinbodyconditionatChongmingDongtanduringnorthwardmigrationstopover,whichweseeasarecoveryfromthelongflightfromAustralia.Incontrast,Red-neckedStintsCalidrisruficollisandLong-toedStintsCalidrissubminuta,employingseriesofrelativelyshort-distanceflightsduringmigration,indicatednosignificantdifferenceindeparturebodyconditionatChongmingDongtanbetweenseasons,norsignificantincreaseinbodyconditionduringeithermigrationstopover.DunlinsCalidrisalpinaontheotherhand,showedasignificantlyhigherbodyconditionduringnorthwardthansouthwardmigrationstopover,mostlikelyinanticipationofthelongertravellingdistanceafterleavingChongmingDongtanduringnorthwardmigration.Thisstudyconfirmsthatthebodyconditionandfueldepositionpatternsamongshorebirdspeciesthatundertakelong-distancenonstopflightsaredifferentfromthosethatundertakeseriesofshort-distanceflights,suggestingthatthecomparisonofbodyconditionandfueldepositionpatternsofcalidridsandpiperscanbeanimportanttooltounderstandtheirmigrationstrategies.
