【 摘 要 】

MigratorymovementsofjuvenilePurpleHeronsfromtheCamargueareainFrancewerestudiedbysatellite-tracking.SixjuvenilebirdswerefittedwithtransmittersinearlyJuly2004.Ofthesesix,foursuccessfullystartedmigrationinSeptember.Trackedbirdsfollowedawesternmigratoryroute,headingoutsouth-south-west,towardsSpain,theBalearicIslandsandthenAlgeria.Theypursedtheirflighteithersouth-westtotheMoroccanAtlanticcoastorstraighttoMauritania,flyingovertheSaharadesert.Flightspeedcouldbeestimatedforoneofthebirdsandwasabout40kilometresperhour.TheresultsofthisstudyareconsistentwithpreviousringrecoverydataandprovideadditionalknowledgeonthespeedanddeparturedateofjuvenilePurpleHeronsduringautumnmigration.
