【 摘 要 】
Constructionworksonpeatlandsarealwaysdifficult;manyincidencesofbuildingsandinfrastructuressubsidenceafterconstructionworkscompletedhavebeenreported.Theseproblemsarecommononareasoverlainwithpeatsoils.Effortsinsolvingtheseproblemsinvolvemethodsthathavebeenwidelypracticesuchasmixingortreatingtheproblematicsoilswithothermaterialswiththeintentiontoimprovethestrengthandstiffnessofthesoil.Inmanycasescementorcementcombinationwithdifferentby-productsfromindustrialprocessesareoftenusedaschemicalstabilizerstoimprovegeotechnicalpropertiesofpeatsoilthroughmixingprocess.Thisstudyhowever,investigatedtheeffectofdifferentpercentagesofsandonpeatsoilwithrespecttotheirrateofconsolidationandcompressionratios.Theattemptistoaddresstheeffectivenessinusinggranularmaterialasastabilizersuchassandthatdoesnotconstitutepozzolanicreactionsinstabilizingpeatsoil.Itwasfoundthatthecoefficientofconsolidation(Cv)ofsoilspecimenswithadditionofsandarehighercomparedtotheuntreatedpeatandspecimenwith50%sandreducedabout70%insettlementcomparedtountreatedspecimen.Thetimetakenforthesoiltoconsolidatealsodecreasedassandcontentincreaseswheretherateofconsolidationincreasedwhenthesandcontentincreases.WhileCompressionindex(Cc)value,thatsignifiesthecompressibilityofasoilwasalsoreducedto90%inspecimenwith50%sandcontent.
