【 摘 要 】
Presenceofclayeysoilstratabeneaththestructuralfoundationorroadpavementswouldseverelyleadtomanyproblemssuchasswelling,lowbearingcapacityormanyothers.Therefore,manyscientificornonscientificmethodshavebeenusedduringpastcenturiestodefeattheseproblems.Oneofthesemethodswouldbesoilreinforcementinordertoimprovemostofthesoilmechanicalproperties.Naturalfibersareusedwidelyinsoilreinforcementprocedureallaroundtheworldduringmanycenturiesandoneofthemostdurableandapplicableofthesematerialsisthepalmfiber.Thisstudyhaveconsideredtheapplicationofthepalmfibers`effectsonthebehaviorofthewestKerman`ssurfaceclays.Theresultsshowthatthiskindofrandomlydistributedreinforcementwouldsignificantlyaffectandalterthecharacteristicsofthereinforcedsoil,butnotalwaysbyimprovingthem.
