BackgroundFeedback from faculty members and residents is a critical componentof undergraduate medical education. Little is known about howstudents assess the adequacy of feedback from faculty and residents.PurposeTo report medical students’ evaluations of clinical teacher feedbackand to determine if students assess feedback given by residentsdifferently than they assess feedback given by faculty.MethodsData were retrospectively collected from medical students’ responsesto end-of-clerkship questionnaire items that evaluated feedback fromresidents and attending physicians. The mean ratings of facultyfeedback in four clerkships were compared with the mean ratings ofresident feedback within each academic year from 1998 to 2002.
