【 摘 要 】

The purpose of this note is to show that the homologically trivialcycles contructed by Clemens and their generalisationsdue to Paranjape can be detected by the technique ofspreading out. More precisely, we associate to these cycles (and theambient varieties in which they live) certain families which arisenaturally and which are defined over $bC$ and show that thesecycles, along with their relations, can be detected in the singularcohomology of the total space of these families.
