【 摘 要 】

It is presented a descriptive study in a company of the metal mechanical sector for ergonomic evaluation of a workplace where the purpose was to identify the risks of musculo-skeletal type to which they are exposed workers as well as the level that they reach. Two ergonomic evaluation methods were used: the NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety) method which allows to evaluate tasks that are carried out by lifting of loads, offering as a result the recommended maximum weight, and the OWAS (analysis of positions of work with the Ovako system) method that bases its results in the observation of the different positions taken by the back, the arms and legs of the worker, in addition to the weight of the load handled during the development of its task. It was found evidence that the positions adopted in the task they have may cause damage to the musculo-skeletal system of the operator and there is a high risk by lifting of loads.
