【 摘 要 】
Considering the importance of fusion accuracy on the quality of fused images, it seemsnecessary to evaluate the quality of fused images before using them in further applications.Current quality evaluation metrics are mainly developed on the basis of applying quality metrics inpixel level and to evaluate the final quality by average computation. In this paper, an object levelstrategy for quality assessment of fused images is proposed. Based on the proposed strategy, image fusion quality metrics are applied on image objects and quality assessment of fusion areconducted based on inspecting fusion quality in those image objects. Results clearly show theinconsistency of fusion behavior in different image objects and the weakness of traditional pixellevel strategies in handling these heterogeneities.
