【 摘 要 】

Monitoring students’ attendance in large classes can be very tedious. However, technologies today can be used to simplify this task so as to convert the time spent in attendance checking to learning. This paper presents a system that automates the checking of students’ attendance based on their location on a seat plan. An image is taken at the top-front position of the classroom and the locations are tracked using an object detection algorithm. The system is a stand-alone application which also helps manage the attendance record of students at a relatively low cost.
