【 摘 要 】

The wâdi /Durâ’ : A model of ancient irrigation ? In the governorate of Shabwa, south of Ni/sâb, the wadi /Durâ’ has been the object of multi-disciplinary research from 1992- 1996. A great variety of hydraulic systems, a number of inscriptions and thermoluminescence dates taken from lemons, shows that the entire valley was intensively exploited for approximately two millenia. Do these results allow for the construction of a model, at least one that is qualitative, of an ancient irrigation in a semi-mountainous environment ? Taking the available data into account, a definitive model cannot be validated, however the obtained results allow for the preliminary construction of an original model of the wâdî /Durâ’ and its tributaries.
